The Hunger Site

The hunger site, (and the other five links at the top of the page) are buttons that you click and it donates a certain amount of the proceeds that the sites get from their ads to charity causes. The hunger site click feeds children, the Pet site feeds pets so they don't have to be put to sleep, The Rainforest Site allows you to preserve a certain amount of land, the Literacy site provides books for children and The Breast Cancer site pays for Mammograms for low income ladies, and other people in need of a little help for their mammogram.

Why I like this site:
I feel like I'm making a difference, even though it may be small, while I'm online doing my daily stuff, I remember to click on these six links, knowing that I've fed a child, a pet, saved 11 feet of the rainforest, provided part of a book for a child, and helped fund a mammogram for a cancer victim.

Rating Professors and Teachers

These types of sites were made to rate and review teachers from junior highs, high schools and colleges throughout the country. Parents can find out which elementary school teacher at the desired elementary school is right for their kid, while students can find out which teachers sound cool.

So, you find your school, then browse the teachers. The criteria for the teachers from their student raters (or people who know the teacher) include whether a the have the "cool" factor, is hot, teaches an easy/hard class, or how passionate or inspiring they are.

Why I like this site: I used it as a tool in choosing my college GenEd classes, I wanted a schedule with a few challenging courses, with passionate professors, and a couple easy A's, and through the ratings on this site, I figured out exactly what classes to sign up for.

43 Things

So here's how it goes... You make a personal list up to 43 things, or 43 goals that you'd like to accomplish, it's also a social networking site, because you can see others who have the same goal as you, and give away cheers, to cheer people in completing their goals, or interesting entries about their goals. This a useful tool for actually accomplishing ones goals, and to copy new goals that you may have never thought of before through the other members.

Why I love this site:
It gives me ideas on new things to do in my life, meaningful long-term goals (ex: self actualize ), and fun petty ones (buy someone an item off their wishlist on amazon.com or convert my best handwriting to a font), I like to check it to see if I get any new cheers (for my goals and entries), and get to see other peoples goals who liked mine.
